Contemporary YA - 68,000 words

Stack of three books with an open magazine placed on top, set against a beige background.

After a car accident almost killed me, and made me miss all of my sophomore year, the adults in my life are determined to give me the typical teenage experience. But when my parents contrived a situation that means we’re spending the entire summer in Minnesota so I could “make friends,” I highly doubt they meant the ghost of my mom’s dead best friend.

I am not a crazy person (other than the fact that I’m seeing a dead girl.) I don’t believe in ghosts. But this girl just won’t leave me alone. Assuming that I am not slowly losing my mind, my best friend Natalie and I decide Grace’s sudden appearance must be my overactive imagination trying to tell me something. My subconscious latching on to clues that others must have missed.

Grace died in high school under unusual, but unsuspicious circumstances. Or so everyone thought…

YA Fantasy - 80,000 words

An open book resting on top of a closed book, with a window and a potted plant in the background.

Loosely based on western fairytales, readers will find new versions of their favorite characters like: Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Ariel, and more!

When the crown prince announces his intention to marry the woman he just met — under the strange criteria that her foot fit an abandoned glass slipper — peace talks between two ancient enemies fall apart. War seems to be all but imminent when the king falls into an enchanted sleep, and each nation accuses the other of foul play.

With spies everywhere, the only hope of salvaging the negotiations and avoiding war is if Lady Magnolia can sneak away from the palace to find answers. With her crimson riding cape, uninvited traveling companions, and trusty pack of wolves, Noli must venture through the enchanted forest and into enemy lands to find an explanation that could have been torn straight from a storybook.

Fantasy Mystery - 80,000 words

A white pitcher with lily of the valley flowers, an open book, a coffee mug with a latte, and a wooden tray all on a dark surface.

Agatha Christie meets X Men in this fantasy whodunit.

Things are a little different in Detective Arthur Palmer’s version of earth. In 1923 Britania, the world may have recovered from the Treaties War, but veterans like AP still remember the horrors. As a Nullifier, AP was responsible for canceling out the abilities of enemy combatant Changelings — shapeshifters and alchemists. He knows the atrocities humans are capabable of inflicting on each other.

When the headmaster of a school for Britanian Changelings is murdered, AP is assigned to the case. What should be a straightforward investigation is complicated when an heiress from Union (Britania colony turned ally), and patroness of the academy butts in. Miss Matilida Crawford is determined to ensure the students aren’t unfairly targeted as suspects because of their abilities.

As clues are uncovered and suspects are interviewed, AP and Mattie turn up more questions than answers about who the headmaster actually was and who would benefit most from his death.
